Hints and tips
A 60 minute course taken over 2/3 weeks will result in a good base tan. We highly recommend the use of an accelerator product during this stage. An accelerator will keep the skin hydrated and moisturised and stimulate melanin production for maximum effect with minimum exposure.
We recommend one or two sessions per week to keep your tan, using a maximiser product. A maximiser can contain a bronzer which is a sugar cane substance that reacts with the uv light to give a deeper colour, this enables you to get the most our of your tanning session.
Your tanning products can be labelled and kept safely for you in the salon.
Did you know:
- Our skin completely renews itself every 28 days or so, therefore we constantly have a layer of dead skin just waiting to flake off. Exfoliating your skin a couple of times a week means that when you have a tanning session, only fresh, new skin is being tanned. This ensures you are tanning effectively.
- Around 40% of uv light bounces straight off dry skin – prepared skin (using an appropriate product) will ensure you get the most out of your session.
- UV light penetrates the closed eye lid. Prolonged exposure can harm your colour vision, night vision and in extreme cases cause cataracts. It is essential that you wear the eye protection provided.
